John Rambo (2008)
3.5/5
Being a hardcore Rambo/Rocky fan, I was very eager to watch the new Rambo movie- John Rambo. Vietnam veteran John Rambo, after surviving many close encounters, is leading a peaceful life in a Thai village, catching snakes for a living. Even though he is looking to avoid trouble, trouble has a way of finding him: a group of Christian human rights missionaries, led by Michael Burnett and Sarah Miller, approach Rambo with the desire to rent his boat to travel up the river to Burma which has been a war zone for over 50 years. The Karen people of the region, who consist of peasants and farmers, have endured brutally oppressive rule from the murderous Burmese military and have been struggling for survival every single day. After some inner contemplation, Rambo accepts the offer and takes Michael, Sarah, and the rest of the missionaries up the river to the Karen village. The humanitarian mission is going well, until the village is attacked and the missionaries are kidnapped, and Rambo is once again asked to transport - but this time a group of mercenaries, assembled by the missionaries' minister on a deadly rescue mission. This time he doesn't stay behind. Rambo, this time around, is not possessed by GOD himself and fights a realistic battle following the rescue operation (though being the producer, Stallone definitely portrays himself as a "hero"). The action is visceral and downright gory at times. Rambo could be seen ripping enemy throats and stomachs with his bare hands. The film pulls no punches when showing exactly what a Barret .50 caliber sniper rifle and heavy machine guns can do to a human body - cut it into half. In many ways, this movie parallels Rocky Balboa as a mature ending compared to a series of sometimes over-the-top but fun action movies. Stallone mutters only a few lines of dialog in this movie, although there is a clear lesson on how well liberal idealism holds up under barbaric realities amid genocide and war. On the whole, I liked this movie and any Rambo or action movies' fan can definitely watch it once and enjoy. It is pretty short with loads of good action scenes.

P.S. I love you(2007)
3.5/5
If you are a die hard romantic , then perhaps this is the movie for you. I liked it and would place it in the league of Serendipity, Notting Hill etc. It has all the makings of a good romantic movie- romance, comedy and drama. Although a little long, its worth watching ( women will love it).

Race (2008)
4/5
I was so in love with the song "Pehli nazar mein" (by Atif Aslam) that I (literally) watched the movie Race first day, first show at 8.30 am. Now I feel that the sacrifice (of my nap) was really worth it. I really enjoyed the movie with all the suspense, oomph, thrills, action and the twists n turns. However, I feel that the comedy at some points was a little pathetic and had double-meanings (Anil Kapoor's part mainly). Still, Johnny Lever's comic role was appreciable and made the movie funny. On the whole a good effort and definitely a one-time-watch ( the case with most thrillers ).

Shaurya (2008)
3/5
An enthralling movie revolving around an army court martial case about an incident which involves a senior officer killed by his subordinate. The movie is a 'twisted version' of "A few good Men". The movie is interesting at the start but gets a little predictable in the last hour. A similar revenge drama as "Main Hoon Na" in which a person develops hatred for a particular community due to bad personal experiences. Script wise Rahul Bose is playing the lawyer, fighting the case for the accused who has opted to be silent. Kay Kay is the Top Official who is responsible for genocide and Minisha Lamba is the journalist covering the case. The movie would have been better if the director avoided the typical "Bollywood flick" style and chose to make it as a serious courtroom drama based on interesting clues and not on Communal feelings.

The movie was so so ….. although everyone is looking very hot specially katrina kaif but there are a lot of flaws in the movie like for eg why did the akshay khanna’s car blow up on landing after the jump before it hit the gas tanker.
when saif falls even if u pause the movie u wont be able to see the rope …. i the 1st scene …
and also how does a man sitting like saif was before falling … how was he able to do a 360 degree rotation in the air without losing height … and still manage to hold the edge of the building…
and also … what the Hell is sameera reddy doing in the movie… i mean i know she can’t act but in this movie she has not even exposed … producers really dumped that money down the drain.
Waw…nice movie. But what the movie are you talking about? Does everybody see this movie.
